Back in the saddle again...

Well we are back to life in full swing. Ugh! However, I am attempting to find solace in the fact that there are less then eight weeks left in the semester!!! It's all downhill from here! Of course, that can be a bad thing...downhill=high speeds=danger.
In last night's class, we had to turn in one of two major papers of the semester. It was a relief to get that weight off my back. I was hoping to lock myself away this weekend and get ahead in assignments, but then I realized it's Easter weekend. Really? Already? My four year old informed me last night that she would really like to color some eggs on Saturday so we could hide them. "You know, mom, for Easter? Eggs?" Guess my weekend is already booked.

Vacation rocks! Reality bites.

We had a really great time this last week. One of our top vacations to date. Relaxing, good company, and most importantly, I was let out of my cage! (a.k.a. my house)

Sometimes it is nice to have time off to do the things around the house that you don't have a chance to do in the regular day-to-day. But this time I needed to just get away for a change. It was great to leave everything behind and just enjoy ourselves and our family. But, as they say, all good things must come to an end; and that time is sadly now. This next week might be painful.

Big thanks to all you beautiful California people for your hospitality! You're super!

Jell-o and babies. Not a wise combo.

Last week I decided I would make jello for the kids. I've never made jello for my kids before. Now I know why. I decided to make (red) strawberry flavored jigglers recipe because...I'm stupid! I don't give the kids red or purple juice for a reason and I'm really not sure why this rule wasn't applied to the jello experiment. Perhaps I didn't realize just how easy it was for children to melt and then wear the jello...also sadly our carpet paid the price for my poor parental decision. Although I have to say that it was a hit with all the kids, only next time I will attempt to make my own with apple juice (clear!!!) and unflavored gelatin. Boo sugar...boo red #40!

Goodbye, good buy

Today is the final day my youngest will be drinking formula. (You can't see me right now, but I am squealing with delight, clapping my hands and doing a happy dance...seriously, but on the inside.)
For the last few months we have had the baby on the Target brand formula. Worked well and about half the price of name brands. That helped since things are so expensive for baby's first year. Another milestone has come and gone; I can hardly believe it.
It's very exciting...hope she enjoys whole milk as much as she has the formula.

Coming up for air

Spring break will soon mark the midpoint for the spring semester. Yipee!

The last two weeks have been VERY hectic with school. I think it's a punishment for the upcoming spring break. Or maybe it's so students appreciate the week off even more after so much work. Sadly it won't be too much of a break for me since I have a family interview paper and three story analysis papers due on the Monday we return from break, so I will be working on vacation. (In the words of my 4 year old...wha, whaa)

I still have an exam, chapter reading and an in-class memorized story presentation to do this week, but I can finally see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Today the baby's 1

Our youngest daughter turned one today. Hard to believe how fast that happened. We had a wonderful party for her at the park. Nice to have a reason to see our family and friends...and eat of course!!! How can you possibly catch up with the people in your life if you don't have a mouthful of food?! The best part was that the guest of honor was happy and content through the whole ordeal. Although...she would not touch, much less eat her own cake. That's just as well though, Lord knows she will discover how wonderful sugar can be soon enough.
