Lazy America

Hello Friends, Family, and World

Don't misunderstand my title I love this country and everything it stands for. I just have some concerns about today's work force. I worked as a manager in the service/delivery part of my company and now I deliver product to 2 major deliver chains. During this time I have come in contact with many different people. I have come to an overall conclusion of about 80% those people . They are very, very lazy. Some people spend more effort on getting out of work than the work it self would require. Then there are mad when they get disciplined for it. It seems they want a pay check but they don't want to work for. They call in sick and expect there pay check to be the same at the end of the week. When did this become acceptable. If you work you get paid, and if you don't you shouldn't.

People today don't have a sense of pride in there work. They get out of bed everyday hating what they do for a living and make everyone miserable around them not to mention themselves.
Let me know what you think about this topic......

I agree. I've been a manager at a major resort destination in Las Vegas for the past 8 years. During that time I found the same to be true.

The employees who are dependable and work are then put down as others as "brown nosers" because they are put in positions of responsibility.

Good observation Steve.

Don't forget to reward those employees and maybe,(just Maybe) the others will try and do better adding to the good guy team.

I agree as well. It is that whole "entitlement" thing. I want to know when people started thinking "I deserve this, even though I did nothing to earn it." It is just baffling to me. Those who have a lot of money worked their butts off or they inherited it, which is a luxury of very few.

I can not agree with you more. I believe that if you are not happy with your "job" you are only wasting what little time we are given here on earth. We are blessed with the opportunity to do whatever we want to do with our lives and more often we spend the majority of our lives complaining obout the situation we are in when we are the ones who created it in the first place!
Imagine a world where we all were doing what we were placed here to do, that is what we are doing feels not like work at all but more like something you enjoy. Imagine the ownership we would all have over the things we do.
The idea for the next reality show "disgruntle employees". These are the people who complain all day everyday for 10+ years. The backroom recievers, wharehouse workers, public workers, retail employees and all of those who spend more time trieng to avoid work than actualy doing it. I have seen the most spectacular acts of creative avoidance that would trump modern engineering! These may also be the same people who appear to be so pissed off that you cant help but laugh at their rediculous comments and what it is that they so pissed about. It is amasing how someone can stay so miserable so long, at what point do you say "enough is enough, this is no way to live." The only other conclusion is to say that in some twisted way they actualy enjoy the environment they have created, because after all it is THEIR CHOICE!!!
I could go on but I will save for the next topic! really cool website, I enjoyed seeing the kid's pics, but what the hell is a bus full of "seriously mentaly ill adults" doing out mingling with all of us anyway? I hope they were on leashes or something I mean it just does not seem right. Maybe they were all there for the Mc Donald's job fair.
