A couple of days ago I received an email from a person I have never spoke to on the phone or met in person. We have only exchanged a couple E-mails. He is a regional manager dealing with distributors in many different states. He addressed me in the E-mail as Guy. He was wondering about my decreased sales in the Phoenix market for a particular chain. But how would you take an E-mail from a person if it said,
Guy,
What is up with your decreased sales.
I felt it was rude and unprofessional, but maybe I'm looking to much into it. Is it that hard to right Stephen, or even Steve, It's only two more letters. I really wanted to respond with Dude but I took the professional route and typed his name.

Way to take the high road!
I didn't want to. :)
The correct response to that is, "Hey DICK, the name ain't Guy,.....it's Buddy. Got it?!"
I actually said that once to this guy when I was bartending. The look of confusion that usually follows is priceless.
