The greatest day in history!

9 years ago today was one of the greatest days in American history in my opinion. September 12th, 2001 was a day that made us all look at our country with love, pride, and hope. We looked at our family, neighbor, and friends with open hearts. We were compassionate and respectful to people we know, and people we had met for the first time. On this day 9 years ago we were all the people we should be and people we could all be proud of.
9 years later we are a complete disaster!!! Our country today looks a lot like the campus in a movie called PCU. We are so good at pointing out what is wrong and different about each other we don't even see what is good and similar about us. Our country is full of hate, greed, and self absorbed people that would sooner step on you than help you up. We all have our hands out looking for a quick buck and we will do anything to get it. I think reality TV has proven this over and over. What happened to hard work, respect, dedication, and love for your fellow man. On 9-12-01 we were not, black, white, or brown, we were not Christian, Mormon, or atheist, we were not Republican, Democrats, Green party, or Tea party members. We were proud heart filled Americans, that would be glad to help a stranger or the neighbor you had never met.
I know I'm not talking about every American, some our still the same people they were 9 years ago today. My point is good people are not the majority like they were that day, they are a rapidly diminishing group of people that are hard to find. Yesterday there were lots of shows dedicated to 9-11. Today I wanted to make sure we recognized the day we had all forgotten, a day we should be very proud of. A day we should model our lives after.
