There is no way, I'm not going to sound like a complete ass on this one, but it is the way I feel.
I love Arizona but I'm tired of the government getting in the way of Darwin's natural selection. If a person is eating a hamburger, texting, and trying to shift in to 5Th gear at 50mph, maybe we let Darwin handle this one. I know there could be innocent people hurt, but this world is doing to much to protect the stupid.
If you are going to continue to protect the stupid why have you not gone all the way, ban talking on phones, eating, disciplining your kids, the kids themselves, staring at your GPS, fiddling with your radar detector, changing the radio station, the radio itself, adjusting your seat, turning down the a/c, drinking a bottle of water or soda, manual transmission vehicles, speedometers, maps, reading directions, Etc. I think you get the point.
The bottom line, no texting in your vehicle is a stupid law, just like all of the the ones I just mentioned would be. If you can't be smart enough to pay attention when driving I want Darwin's natural selection to take over. I just hope nobody else is hurt because your stupid.

I agree, stupid people don't deserve protection, but the one's I worry about are the people they slam into when being idiots...like a car with you in it.
If natural selection is true, a good chunk of the world's population and at least half of America is in grave danger of "planet removal". Good news for the fittest.
This country has a problem with protecting the stupid. Why can't a person wait to tell someone something in person. Is it so important that a girl has to talk about her cheating boyfriend when going 65mph? Or a mom in her soccer runner with 4 screaming kids talking about a recipe for dinner, all the while going through a school zone...? The problem is we have so many people in this country who can't do two things at once...so our great leaders decide to punish all of us for the stupidity of others. I agree...let darwin handle it.
I want the government to butt out of everything in our personal lives! Next they will be involved in sex like in China, and punishing those who had more than one kid from an extra moment of pashion. Good point!
