Is the blogger dying?

I have been on a role lately on my blog and I'm really enjoying being back in the swing of putting my thoughts on the screen. I have noticed lately that many of the blogs I follow are not being updated very often. I can't help but thing that with so much social media out their that the blogger is dying. Twitter, and Facebook are quick bits of lots of friends and family. Blogs are one person talking about their lives and experiences. I can see the inconvenience of following blogs versus have friends or followers on social media sites. I would just hate to see blogs die when I feel they are a deeper and more intimate than social sites. Social sites are great but your thoughts can easily get lost in the feed.
